Decide what you need before comparing prices.
A buyer researching flat steel sourcing options needs to clarify product form, grade and application before requesting a quote. This guide explains how to narrow the product family so the RFQ captures the right technical and commercial details.
This page is written for the research stage. If you already know the exact product, go straight to the matching page and send the specification. If you are still comparing families, read the routing table below, then open the flat steel product catalogue to compare hot rolled, cold rolled, stainless, coated and aluminium forms side by side.
Supplier evaluation is a separate decision from product selection. Once the product family is settled, use the steel supplier Turkey page to review supply scope, quality documentation responsibility, Incoterms and RFQ criteria.
Research stage
Use this guide to compare product families, understand specification fields and identify what to include in your RFQ.
Ready to buy
Go directly to the product page for your requirement and submit your specification with grade, dimensions, quantity and destination.
Product families
Compare flat steel product families by application.
Flat steel from Turkey covers hot rolled coil and sheet, cold rolled coil and sheet, stainless flat products and aluminium sheet and plate. Each product family has different grade, surface, tolerance and document requirements that affect the quotation.
Use the table below to route your requirement to the page that owns it. Each page carries the grade list, dimension scope, documentation and delivery terms for that exact product, so the RFQ starts from the correct specification set.
| What you need | Product family | Page that owns the specification |
|---|---|---|
| Structural or general fabrication steel supplied in coil form, black or pickled and oiled | Hot rolled coil | Hot rolled steel coil (HRC and HRPO) supply scope |
| Hot rolled material cut to fixed sheet lengths for fabrication and welded assemblies | Hot rolled sheet | Hot rolled steel sheet grades and dimensions |
| Smoother surface, tighter thickness tolerance and forming behaviour in coil form | Cold rolled coil | Cold rolled steel coil DC01–DC06 supply scope |
| Cut-to-length cold rolled sheet or blanks for panels, cabinets and appliance parts | Cold rolled sheet | Cold rolled steel sheet forming grades |
| Thicker carbon steel for structural, equipment base and heavy fabrication work | Steel plate | Steel plate S355, A36 and A572 supply scope |
| Corrosion resistance, hygiene requirements or architectural finish | Stainless flat products | Stainless steel sheet supply scope, with grade detail on 304, 316L and 430 |
| Lower weight, non-ferrous flat product selected by alloy and temper | Aluminium sheet and plate | Aluminium sheet and plate selection guide |
Coil and sheet
Define thickness, width, surface, edge, packaging and cutting requirements.
Plate and project demand
Define grade, testing, documentation and logistics constraints early.
Stainless and aluminium
Confirm alloy, temper, finish and corrosion requirements separately from carbon steel.
RFQ preparation
Prepare a complete specification before requesting a quote.
A useful RFQ includes the fields that affect feasibility and pricing: product form, grade, dimensions, quantity, packaging, documents, Incoterms and destination. Incomplete specifications lead to delays and inaccurate quotations.
Documentation and inspection scope belong in the RFQ, not in a follow-up email. State the EN 10204 certificate type you need, whether third-party inspection applies, who nominates the inspection company and which hold points are required. The quality documentation and inspection scope page sets out how these documents are issued and reviewed.
Commercial fields move the price basis as much as technical ones. Give quantity, packing and marking requirements, destination port or address, preferred Incoterm and the shipment window. When the specification is complete, send it through the flat steel RFQ form.
Technical minimum
Grade, standard, dimensions, surface and product form.
Commercial minimum
Quantity, delivery terms, destination and timing expectations.
Technical references
Standards referenced in this guide.
The specifications named on this page are published standards, not SteelFromTurkey documents. Cite the standard and grade in the RFQ so the mill route, certificate and inspection scope can be matched to it.
Standard editions are revised over time. Where a project references a specific edition or a national annex, state it in the RFQ so the certificate scope is confirmed against the correct version.
